Grove Pointe

Grove Pointe is quickly nearing completion from the Corner of Marin and Christopher Columbus Drive.

What is presumably the entrance Grove Pointe residents will enter the building through:

Looking north from the corner of Marin and Columbus Drive. Grove Pointe's height is most evident along Marin Blvd, where the tower rises to its full height without setbacks.

From Stueben Street looking west:

The brickwork along Marin Blvd; someone tried to get fancy, and this was the result:

The parking garage facades along Morgan Street clearly makes this the backside of Grove Pointe, and really hurts the urban streetscape here.

From Morgan Street, the Grove POinte parking garage dominates the street:

The parking grage "windows" now have metalwork; presumably to keep folks from jumping off.

The base of Grove Pointe will eventually have retail. It seems some of the retail bays are getting prepped already:

From Columbus Drive looking west, the telescoping scale of the building is obvious. It also looks like the building is only half built, even though its been topped off.

The magnitude of Grove Pointe is best realized from the back. The multiple elevations of the Grove Street / Newark Avenue facade hide the full scale of the building. But along Marin Blvd, there is nothing but a 30 story wall.

Along Grove Street, the tower begins to change the skyline:

The Columbus Tower, one block to the east, is also rising at a rapid pace. Below, both towers come into view.

As the Grove Pointe Tower takes shape, workers also begin rehabilitating the PATH station entrance and the park at the intersections of Newark, Grove and Columbus.

The facade of the building has been the center of online rants from local residents.
