The Monaco Towers are racing upwards and now a fundamental component of the city’s skyline. The two towers share a common base where parking spaces for the project will be housed.
The historic Jersey City powerhouse is well on its way to not falling down. The city initiated a $3.4 million effort to the structure from collapsing and further deteriorating while the building awaits redevelopment. The interior of the structure has long been exposed to the weather and the empty window shells are finally being plugged.
For almost a year, signs on the base of 77 Hudson Street have promised fresh groceries coming soon. The only evidence that work continues are the piles of yellow construction permits attached to the window, as evidenced by the not-to-straight photo:
