The annual weekend Artist Studio Tour in Jersey City is next weekend. This is a great opportunity to check out local artists and their work. And more importantly, a great opportunity to peak into all sorts of living spaces since many of the artists work out of their homes.
Renderings for a mixed-use two, double tower complex are available on the SLCE Architect’s website showing a high rise community for what is currently the low-rise Avalon Cove. Two renderings indicate a 6 to 8 story base with high rise towers; retail is shown in the base of the building.

The Lenape House, a poetry / performance space and eatery / BYOB bar has quietly opened on Second Street between Newark and Coles.
The new towers rising over the last decade have mostly all included retail along the base in the hope of creating vibrant mixed-use communities akin to older city centers, but as the economy has soured, many of those spaces remain empty.
Gothamist reports a man was handcuffed for possessing unopened and bagged bottles of wine he intended for a dinner party. While ultimately he was ticketed for trespassing, not the bottles of wine, the Port Authority Police apparently now have the authority to invent regulations all on their own.
