Crystal Point

Crystal Point from Second Street in downtown Jersey City

Crystal Point continues to make a mad dash towards completion. The glass tower on the tip of Second Street has some of the highest asking prices per square foot, even as the economy tanks.

Glass windows have begun to be installed on the lower floors of Crystal Point.

The building might have great views but I would highly suspect the quality of the building. I live in the Mandalay and have witnessed the approximately forty-two floors erected in 3-4 months. They have started installing aluminum frames with glass on the exterior - and all of that came crashing down this weekend due to 'winds' which honestly werent that major. I am sure the developers will put in some fancy applicances, but at the end of the day I think its shoddy workmanship will prove to be fatal in the long term.

The developer is Fisher Brothers, which also built Liberty Towers and Liberty Terrace, both of which are built to the highest standards. I know; I lived in one and bought in the other. They took care of any issues I had with my unit, always. Also, any JC resident would know that the winds in the area, especially during Nor'easters are quite violent, taking down scaffolding and building materials from every building site in JC. I am highly skeptical about the previous comment.
