Deli, Not Grocery For Paulus Hook

Paulus Hook residents may be disappointed to learn that Liberty Towers will be getting something more like a deli rather than a grocery store, according to the Life Vicarious. Paulus Hook doesn't have much in the way of real grocery stores, not that other neighborhoods are much better off considering the underwhelming PathMark and Shoprite.

What about A&P or the new Morton Williams? Those are pretty decent, though I would agree that more grocery stores would be helpful.

You are right in that Morton Williams has opened to serve Newport.

A&P is not however, much better than the Shoprite or Pathmark. The produce in A&P is often borderline rotten-- that is, if they are even stocked. Most of the meat they sell is set to expire the day of sale, and with carbon monoxide treatment prevalent in modern grocery stores, expiration dates are the only way to know if meat is spoiled. Finally, A&P is not in a neighborhood, its in the middle of a parking lot., surrounded by other parking lots.
