Addicts Rejoice as Starbucks Officially "Coming Soon"
Starbucks officially is "Coming Soon" to the base of Grove Pointe, the luxury residential tower on the corner of Columbus and Newark Avenue. Starbucks has long been rumored to be coming to the base of the tower. This is the second location in Jersey City, excluding Target's in store coffee counter. The Newport Starbucks was temporarily closed last year for renovations.

While the location would be most beneficial for commuting, the path wont allow the cup-o-joe so I'll still frequent beechwood the most. The tower people will probably love it and the brownstoners hate it.
There is also a Starbucks coming soon

Let's be honest, most PATH riders ignore those no eating and drinking signs anyway. Starbucks will do fine there, and in the process, probably increase customer traffic at other local shops as well.
You ignore the no eating rule on PATH until you get popped for it by the PA cops for doing it. I got nailed two years ago for drinking water on the train. They let me off with a warning, but apparently the fine is $75 and court costs. They were cool about it, but you have to admit that while old the PATH cars are reasonably clean compared to the shitboxes running around on the MTA. Two words: "C Train."
Actually, I find that the PATH system has a great deal more litter than the MTA system, mostly because the Port Authority refuses to install trash receptacles. The MTA also bans food and drinks.
MTA bans Food and Drink? Umm, no. It is merely suggested that you don't.

I think they can fine you for having an open-topped container like a hot coffee, but with 8 million riders they've fined less than a 1000 over the years. It's a joke. It is so funny to hear people run down the PATH for cleanliness. Just go to 33rd Street turn left out of the turnstiles. You can tell where PANJNY cleaners authority ends and the MTA filth begins.
